Balducci’s Cares

Maybe the Paris riots have given the NYC 14th street grocery store jitters, will be see a summer of discontent in the US too? Or maybe there’s a simpler reason why they’re so public about their love of their staff. Any suggestions why the chain has got such a big board on the door step saying how wonderful it is to work there?

  1. Everyday I walk by – there are protests that the store is not unionized, and does not pay fair wages.

  2. I can tell you from personal experience just how much Balduccis cares.

  3. Balduccis sucks. The fact is that this company has nothing to do with the Greenwich old store. This one now is Sutton Place Gourmet or SPG from Maryland with a diferent name. SPG doesn’t pay fair wages. SPG doesn’t promote from within. SPG doesn’t care about it’s staff. SPG squeezes the staff to the limit and it doesn’t share the profits with them. They are nothing but expendable batteries to their machine. SPG food & grocery products hasn’t been the same since the core buyers group which made the big difference left about two years ago.
