BBC World Gets First 24 Hour Distribution Deal

By Piers Fawkes on April 11, 2006

The BBC’s international news channel BBC World has secured its first US distribution deal and will launch in New York on a digital cable TV network later this month, the Guardian reports.

A rebranded BBC World News will be available first in New York, after signing a distribution deal with cable operator Cablevision. Previously, only a 30-minute BBC World News bulletin was available on public service stations in the US – now BBC World will be available around the clock.
