Else/Where Mapping

By Piers Fawkes on April 26, 2006

The University of Minnesota Design Institute’s new book ELSE/WHERE: MAPPING charts the ascendancy of mapping as a fundamental design process: "a powerful interdisciplinary strategy that links people and places, data and organizations, and physical and virtual environments."

The book features 40 essays by writers from the U.S. and Europe, nearly 300 images, and several commissioned projects. The book’s four sections "juxtapose archival maps and experimental prototypes—opening up a new dialogue among disciplines."
