More Tea, Chaps?

by Piers Fawkes

An article on Reuters looks at an apparent push for tea consumption in Britain with new tea cafes opening to fight the coffee houses.

[Chairman of the United Kingdom Tea Council William Gorman] cautioned about imitating the coffee-chain trend, which he sees as a fashion that will be short-lived. “Tea should be very careful about trying to catch up with coffee in terms of sexiness, fashion and style because that is actually quite transient … tea has more natural values,” he said.

(N.B. Careful how you read this Reuters article. Everyone quoted has an interest in promoting the tea industry. Smells a little like news made up by PR folk)
