RollerWarehouse have created a ‘ticker’ for their customers (who fall mainly in the youth category) to be pasted into the myspace.com profiles—check out the ticker here—the news highlighted link directly back to the RollerWarehouse weblog.
They haven’t stopped there, as anyone who has it on their site will be able to get a 5% doscount on their purchases. This little development has already given the online skating store a significant increase in sales.
Fantastically simple and effective.

Great idea. In case you don’t know, myspace does not allow javascript and many other types of code to be used on their pages. By wrapping the RSS feed into a flash player these guys were able to get past the limitation.
Because of the huge number of bands using flash for video on the myspace pages, I doubt the company will block this in the near future.
Again, great idea.

Thanks for the comment Andrew. I was really amazed that no one else is doing this. At least no one I could find.
And to Jessy, well I’m just keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, they finally shut it down. After 2 plus years. And they deleted our myspace account. We had over 9000 friends. Ouch.
