The Economist Special On Wedia

The Economist Special On Wedia

By Piers Fawkes on April 24, 2006

The Economist has a thorough section about Wedia or Web 2.0 in their April 22 06 issue. Entitled “Among The Audience – A Survey Of New media” it takes a look at this era of participation and the threat and opportunities to old media and the journalists within it. Articles look at how publishing (and broadcasting) is moving from lecturing to conversations.

There’s not much discussion about what’s next – it’s as if the Economist is in simple awe of what’s currently available. Articles look at Wiki’s Second Life, Podcasting, Linking. Now where could they have read about that before?
