TV-B-Gone (Or How To Ruin Our World Cup)

by Piers Fawkes

Tvbg Model GrnThere we are in the Red Lion, about to jump up and down as Rooney shoots to find the net in order to sink Argentina and just as the ball speeds from his foot - all the TVs in the pub go off. Mayhem. Why? Because these little blighters are on sale again. They’re little keyring controllers that promise to turn off any TV close to you (or so they say):

Your TV-B-GoneĀ® universal remote control resembles other TV remote controls, but is different in two important ways. First, it only has a power button that allows you to switch a TV on or off. You control when you see, rather than what you see. Second, the device is so small that it easily fits in your pocket, so that you have it handy whenever you need it wherever you go: airports, bars, restaurants, laundromats, etc.
