Sing Your Own Ringtone

Sing Your Own Ringtone

By Piers Fawkes on May 21, 2006

An Indiana newspaper reports that a local store offers customers the opportunity to sing their own ringtones for $9.99.

Aptly named “Sing-a-Ring,” customers can choose a song from a list of more than 14,500, said Mike Struppa, the man behind the concept. They then walk into the two-person studio, and a karaoke screen plays the music and scrolls the words to the song while the customer sings his or her heart out.

Once the customer is done recording, Struppa runs the track through proprietary software and works with the customer to decide which part of the song he or she wants as the ringtone.

A store in Alabama also offers such a service.
