Warner Brothers Films Via BitTorrent

Warner Brothers plan to start distributing their films via peer to peer network BitTorrent. It will be the first major studio to sign a deal with BitTorrent. Om Malik says:

The service will launch later this summer and will include newer releases such as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Now, this is not an exclusive deal, and the burden of distribution and sales falls on BitTorrent. Warner makes its content available for distribution.

BitTorrent breaks large files into smaller pieces and users download these smaller pieces from a number of computers running BitTorrent connected to the web (rather than one file from one location).
