Digg 3.0 Disappoints

Digg 3.0 Disappoints

By Piers Fawkes on June 26, 2006

The latest version of community edited site was launched this morning – and after a strong buzz generated in the run up, we find the release a tad disappointing. The interface is smoother and the categories are wider but overall, it’s as if the owners have done a refresh rather than a major overhaul.

Jason Calacanis has nothing to worry about. Obviously taking cues from Digg, he built a true 3.0 version of a community edited site with the beta-version Netscape. Netscape brings a greater sense of community and collaboration – those aspects remain hidden in the new Digg.
