Zopa
Zopa.com is a peer-to-peer bank that allows online lending and borrowing exchange betweenindividuals. It introduces people with money to lend to people who need money. Tamara from live/work writes on Treehugger about the service:
With Zopa I can begin to see the market opening up – they have cut outthe faceless role of the middleman and put lending in the hands ofindividuals. Let’s see if they end up offering a “borrow from peoplejust like you” or “other borrowers like you…” service where yourborrowing choices can really align with the values of a chosen lendinggroup and vice versa.
