CB2 to open in NYC in ’07

CB2 to open in NYC in ’07

By Dave Pinter on July 24, 2006

Could there ever be room for another mid priced modern furniture and home goods retailer in NYC. Crate & Barrel thinks so. It’s bringing its well tested CB2 brand to NYC late next year. To date the clear competitor to West Elm has only offered merchandise through catalog orders. But clearly the company sees the time is right to roll out the concept beyond the only two current Chicago locations. No specifics have been released on number of new stores or the potential locations, but the CB2 did provide all the furniture for the revamped Tribeca Cinema Gallery lounge which it intends to use as a temporary showroom until the store is open.
