Stumbled upon…

by Guy Brighton in Web & Technology

How often do we stumble upon cool websites only to forget the url later? Enter StumbleUpon, a cool new Mozzilla add-on that you can install on your browser and click the button everytime you want to "stumble" upon a cool new site. You can pre-select topics that interest you and your "stumbles" will match those topics.
If you like the site you stumbled upon, all you have to do is click the I like it button on your browser and it is added to an online database of the sites you liked.
We are addicted to this new tool : it helps us find new websites and also helps us remember the ones we like. Can’t beat that!

  1. Isn’t that kind of like deli.cio.us? I like StumbleUpon’s interface better, though!

  2. I also really love Blue Dot for this purpose: www.blue.us. It’s a way to save and share links.

  3. FYI - This “new” thing called StumbleUpon has been around for more than 18 months now.

Come on Jinal, PSFK is supposed to be on the cutting edge.

Landon — Right. Its not new, but we hadn’t covered it here. So might as well :)

  5. The write is anticlimatic. The best thing about stumbleupon is that you get to stumble sites that others have deemed worthy instead of searching out good sites on your own.

This better explains the use of stumpleupon. Google rates sites by sites that link to them (using the theory that people link to better sites). Stumpleupon sends you to sites that people have actually rated as good (and based upon your ratings, good for you).

  6. Well Ive been a member for 2 yrs and they still have some pretty big issues! The ratings of blogs by other stumblers is a joke many have been X rated for revenge.Censorship in the forums is insane!Just a warning!

  7. There is absolutely no program that compares w/Stumble Upon. It’s the “Big Dog”.

  8. hi everybuddy

    how are yeah
