The British Fashion Council have released the names of 14 young designers chosen to receive sponsorship under the New Generation Scheme at next month’s London Fashion Week. The Telegraph gives us a break down of their top 3:

Todd Lynn’s name may be new to telegraph.co.uk readers, but he is already well-known in the rock ‘n’ roll world. His ‘dark and beautiful’ look is favoured by the likes of U2, the Rolling Stones and Marilyn Manson. Lynn previously worked as a technical advisor and right-hand man to Roland Mouret, the creator of the ‘Galaxy’ dress.

Clare Tough is an inventive and eclectic knitwear designer, incorporating different yarns, textures and elements such as metal rings into her extraordinary hand-knitted pieces. She graduated from Chelsea College of Art in 2001 with 1st class honours and the RSA Student Design Award Masters medal. She later went on to take her MA at Central Saint Martins. Her business partner is Eo Bocci, the international fashion scout.

Christopher Kane, the Glasgow-born designer, graduated with Distinction and an MA in womenswear from Central Saint Martins in February this year and went straight into a job with Donatella Versace, working on the Atelier couture collection she showed in Paris in July, as well as consulting on shoes and accessories. Kane first caught Donatella’s eye when he won the Lancôme Colour Award in 2005 and she became an instant and enthusiastic supporter of the young student. The graduate collection he showed on the CSM catwalk – a sexy exercise in lingerie-meets-bondage, executed in pink, flesh and black stretch and lace – won rave reviews and also the Harrods Design Award.
