Feedburner: Blog Traffic Feed Readership To Increase 10x With IE7
So, we were out drinking with the Monks last night in Manhattan and one of those fiends brought along a couple of nice gents from RSS-bods Feedburner in Chicago. One of them told us that a version of Microsoft’s next browser (IE7) will have Feedburner integration. He also said that the new browser will drive traffic to blogs with RSS feeds. He said something like:
Microsoft are going to auto-upgrade anyone with an IE browser to IE7. That means nearly every PC desktop in the world will be using it. If someone goes to a site with an RSS feed, this big orange box will start flashing and will ask if they want to remember the site. It will get regular people to return to websites and we believe this is going to create a surge in blog readership. Blog Feed readership is going to go up tenfold.
Hmmm… we’ll wait to see it to believe it. And with the hangovers we’ve got, the idea of a huge throbbing orange box kinda turns our stomach.
