When we met Scott a few months back, he was say-at-home dad. He wasn’t just any stay-at-home-dad, though we realised as he sat opposite us in Snice with that broad grin on his face as we tried to hide the bewilderment that his site – the Sartorialist – had more traffic in a few months than we had in a two years.

Blogger 4686 1648 1600 Cover Gq 190While he pushed his daughter to and from the park or shops, Scott had been using his fairly extensive experience working in the fashion industry to spot well attired beautiful people of New York and take photos of them for his blog. The more photos he took, the more popular the blog became.

When we bumped into him the other week, he had just got back from a trip to Milan and Paris where he had been commissioned to take Fashion Week photos. Many of those photos were published on his site. Why you, we asked. “It’s not so much about the size of the audience than it is about the fact that the right people read it,” he told us.

And we’re sure they do – especially with the news that starting this October he will have a recurring page in GQ (US)! Scott says on his blog:

I just finished the first page and I really love it. It is crazy when a magazine as good as GQ says that you can do what you want and then actually lets you do it!.. I could not have done this without the support of my growing loyal readership – I’m really happy to share this with you.

We just have to say congratulations to the fella. Lucky bugger.
