Street Use

Street Use

By Guy Brighton on August 16, 2006

Inspired by the William Gibson quote, "The street finds its own uses for technology" – Street Use is a blog just about that: how people are using the street in a diverse and increasingly customisable (is that a word?) way.

Created by Kevin Kelly is Senior Maverick at Wired magazine, the site features anything from an improvised amoured truck in Iraq to african home-made toy trucks (see pic).

It’s a fascinating read, but my favourite has to be the dashboard oven post – about a women who uses the dashboard in her SUV as an oven to bake cookies.
