The Sun Gets It Royally Wrong, The BBC Pretends That We Still Trust Them

prince harry the sunSo, you probably saw the photo of Prince ginger the other day cupping the breasts of a woman who wasn’t his girlfriend. The Sun was the first paper to release the photos and the Independent reports that it now appears that the photos were stolen and were photgraphed a few years ago before Harry was dating his latest filly.

Meanwhile, the BBC is revelling in a report that suggests that Brits trust papers more than blogs. The BBC says:

66% said national television was the most accurate and was trusted as highly as family and friends.

The BBC also reports that 24% of respondents trust blogs as much as their friends and family. The BBC might dismiss this figure, but let’s think about this: papers are around for 200+ years and only 66% trust them, blogs are around for three to four years and a quarter of Brits trust their writing.

Pretty amazing, no?

And just as an aside – just to prove that it’s not only sites like us that have typos and poor grammar: can you spot the spelling mistake in the RSS except of this story in the Independent:

Thousands of British workers employed by Formula One racing teams are at risk of losing their jobs because of swingeing cost cuts, according to Max Mosley, the president of the sport’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

  1. With the proliferating dishonesty of mainline news media, the figures are going to grow much larger as far as the public trusting bloggers go.

And your comment on grammar isn’t that big of an issue among the great majority of blog readers that I’ve interacted with. Who can’t find typos in any major newspaper or even book that has sold well?

  2. Where’s the typo?

I thought that it was “swingeing” but I looked it up and found it was correct.
