Amazon Unbox is the long awaited (for some) video download service.
Each movie/tv episode is downloaded after purchase (only for Windows users) and the resolution is suitable for playback on TV or PC screen. Rental must be viewed within 30 days and downloads can only be viewed on the Amazon Unbox Video Player. There is a price range from $7.99 and $14.99 for movies, but the TV shows are $1.99.
Obviously, trying to get in before Apple announces a similar offering and it will be interesting to see the two battle it out for market share. Although personally, I still prefer to watch movies on the ‘big’ screen and have a DVD for the same price off Ebay.

I know that some are looking at this as big news because the other players in the field haven’t been growing fast enough to suit Hollywood, but I don’t see an awful lot of value in this space yet.
There is pretty much no differentiation between partipants, and the pricing hasn’t been anything to move people to use the services a lot either.
I am looking forward to when this sector is a reality and offers something of value to the consumer. We’re still a ways away from that at this time.
