Liberty, the upmarket London retailer, is trying to established the next great British luxury brand, the Daily Telegraph reports:
Burberry and Mulberry may have a fight on their hands… Liberty of London was only established last autumn, but it is already planning to roll out the luxury goods brand internationally, starting with the Japanese market in 2008….
Liberty now plans to allocate the whole of the central atrium on the ground floor of its flagship London store to the Liberty of London brand, “thus reinforcing our customers’ view that Liberty is once more an important ‘fashion destination’.”
