The Lomographic Society has released the Lomo LC-A+ which I think will split the lomo community.
Hosting the same Minitar 1 32/2.8 lens housed in the classic Lomo body design, they have given the new 35mm camera some features which you usually had to ‘trick’ the camera to do:
- multiple exposures on one frame
- new automatic exposure time to infinity
- cable release socket
- expanded ISO settings (100-1600)
Why will this split the lomo community? Simple, price. At £168/$320, suddenly, the little cult camera which you bought off eBay for £50 from a guy in Russia all them years ago seems to have a luxury brother with delusions of grandeur.

LC-As don’t go for £50 on ebay these days, you would be lucky to get one less than £85… a scruffy one at that. The cable realese is something that the long-exposure-loving lomo has been crying out for. It is also possible that these new ones will have a better notion of quality control.
