As advertised by themselves, Tired and Tested (nice name) is ‘myspace with shorts on’. 

A social networking site for players, fans, clubs, leagues to socialise through sport. With a list spanning from American Football right through the Windsurfing, I did a little ‘drilling down’ and picked one sport at random – my mouse fell on Netball…

Here you can click through to existing profiles of players, read their interests, what other sports they enjoy, see who their buddies are and also contact or request to be their friend. They are also ‘fan sites’ of sports stars and the usual ‘bells and whistles’ you’d expect from a social networking site.

Is it needed – you decide?

  1. Having a social networking site just to have one nowadays seems like a waste of time. I prefer ideas and businesses that incorporate social networking as one facet of a business that generates profits in a variety of ways. For instance I ran into these guys when evaluating Play Coed as an advertising vehicle….

    PlayCoed.com which makes money by payment processing, advertising, and merchandising. They have an interesting model because the social networking aspect of the site doesn’t take precendence, but it factors into the business model.
