What is a brand?

Duberly Design Office or DDO have created a map of what they think a brand looks like. Using a concept map they show how a brand model can be created. Whilst it’s an interesting tool that will no doubt impress clients, it seems to me that it’s just another tool for whittling down a brand into simplistic, client friendly chunks. The map is a huge and complex mass but as big at it is it can’t capture the richness of emotion that people feel when confronted by a brand.
