YouTube is an online phenomenom. One of the fastest growing web sites of the last year it has been going from strength to strength knocking bigger players such as Google Video and Yahoo Video to one side.
Asi Sharabi, a planner at London digital agency Grand Union has become so interested in the YouTube site that he has written three trends reports on it. The first concentrates on an overview of the top 100 all time most viewed videos and breaks them down by source and content type. The second report is on the top 100 videos viewed in the last month and a similar breakdown with commentary is provided. Finally the third report looks at the most viewed videos this week.
Asi’s reports provide a brilliant overview of the make up of YouTube and what makes it as a true viral. They are also littered with fantastic stats that will be a great addition to any user generated content presentation.
