Branded Screensavers For iPods

By Piers Fawkes on October 10, 2006

There’s a hack floating the web, that allows people to hack their iPods to put up their own screensavers while they are idle. How could your brand take advantage? Here are the instructions for creating a screensaver for a 5G video iPod:

1. Create a new folder named Demo Mode on the iPod.
2. In iTunes, rename any video file as Demo
3. Don’t play anything and keep the iPod on a charger. In 2 minutes the video you renamed as Demo will automatically play and repeat.

Therefore – why not send your brand fans a video called Demo?? Maybe you could do so, weekly??
