Ever wonder what people will look like in the future?
An Isatambul based photographer, Mike Mike, set out give us a glimpse into the future by showing us just that.  The Face of Tomorrow Project is open source venture that alows people from all over the world to send in head shots, where they are then compiled into a composite face.  Essentially, you get see the effects of the ‘melting pot’ for a particular region anywhere in the world.

The concept is a series of photographs that addresses the effects of
globalization on visual identity attempting to answer the question:
what might a typical inhabitant of a mega metropolis look like in one
or two hundred years if society continues to break down color barriers,
mixing at will? The methodology involves taking photographs of current
inhabitants and compositing their faces to create a representative
face.

  1. I like this idea. I remember somthing similar to this on the cover of Time magazine a long time ago ( http://www.time.com/time/covers/0,16641,19931118,00.html ) It’s good to see it revisted with more participation and geography. What a great way to remind us that we are both unique and common at the same time.

  2. A similar version of this is currently being exhibited for the Art ‘n About month in Sydney. The “Face of Sydney” is being projected on to the AMP Tower.
