Pay Homage to the Cow

VacaValiente produce innovative leather products that go beyond the traditional leatherworking techniques to push the structural possibilities of the material. The company name translates as ‘Brave Cow’, and their slogan states “VacaValiente is our homage to the cow, as a symbol to a life without fear and haste”. These simple words summarize the design team’s concept of exploring the untapped possibilities of leather as a design material, and creating products that respond to different human and social practices that they consider essential to modern life, and which in certain cases find to be on the verge of extinction.

The ecological aspect of the designs is also key- products use a material composed of 100% reconstituted leather fibres,  and working with leather outside traditional practices has resulted so far in the production of laminated, channeled and extended leather.

Currently only the AMIGOS collection of hand-crafted leather animal figures and product holders is available, however VacaValiente have several collections in the pipeline including accessories, tableware, home furnishings and games.
