Starbuck’s Guide To Culture

Starbuck’s Guide To Culture

By Piers Fawkes on October 24, 2006

There was quite an extensive article in the NY Times paper at the weekend about the charge Starbucks is leading in terms of bringing cultural products to their customers. These products include CDs and even a feature film.

The article has already been much buzzed by the business and marketing blogosphere.

Cynics could just say this is a marketing effort at Starbucks but a PSFK tipster who works at a record company told us:

"When you deal with BestBuy, they don’t care about the product. Just the sales. When you deal with Starbucks, the people there are so into the music. They love what they do. When I approach them for a possible collaboration project, they want to do the A&R too(!) – I have trouble fighting them off!"
