It’s interesting to witness three cultural sites launching events listings as bolt ons to their regular services. Within a week PSFK has launched The Purple List, then TrendWatching have launched a TrendEvents service and now We Make Money Not Art has a del.icio.us list of calls and events.
“Great minds think alike,” TW’s Reinier Evers told us in an email congratulating us on TPL’s launch. Is this just a blog fad or does it reflect something deeper? Maybe it’s a reflection of a broken system of information distribution. For us here we were frustrated by how difficult it was to get information on a wide variety of events that we were interested in. For a long time Flavorpill has been championing the ‘entertainment’ side of the march – but, like WMMNA and TW we also wanted to have a mix of events that stimulated us professionally and intellectually as well.

Event listings are nice and useful.. how about integrating a calendar into the psfk site? why putting up a special sub-site for that?
sometimes the diversity of information on PSFK feels a little bit.. ehwm,. too much..

Great minds indeed. I’ve been working on a personal project for something v similar for a while now. Was intrigued when I woke up one day and saw TPL announced! I think you can take this a lot further than where it currently sits…but then again…early days.
