As speculation continues over the future of YouTube (will Google buy or won’t they?), some exciting stuff is happening elsewhere in the online video world.

In the UK it has been announced that MySpace will host advanced screenings of US/Irish show Brotherhood. The debut episode in the series went online today and may be followed up by the US version of the Office and Nip/Tuck.

Jamie Kantrowitz, senior vice-president of marketing and content at MySpace, said:

“This partnership will not only help to publicise a fantastic new television series, but it is also an important milestone for MySpace and the UK television industry.”

Over in the US Fox on Demand is offering episodes of Prison Break, Justice and Bones via MySpace. The programming will be sponsored by Toyota, Burger King and Lionsgate Entertainment. In a statement that reeked of boadroom speak Fox said:

“Leveraging this unique opportunity with our sister company Fox enables us to experiment and innovate and deliver some of the most compelling video experiences online to consumers.”
