Adidas Innovations

manchic has some great pics from the new Adidas store on the Champs Elysees in Paris. On a street known more for it’s designer retailers such as the newly renovated Louis Vuitton flagship, Adidas have opened their biggest Sports Performance Store in the world.

The 18800 square-foot store not only houses all the Adidas ranges (including the Stella McCartney collection), it also showcases the first "mi Innovation Centre" – described as ‘a large-scale, futuristic computer that provides a focal point of
innovation and interaction for consumers.’  This claims to offer high-tech
customization, giving customers the same bespoke treatment as top athletes using ‘unprecedented
innovations such as a configurator, laser and infra-red technologies,
commands generated by gesture translation, a virtual mirror, a digital
3-D universe and radio frequency identification’.

Sounds highly impressive if not a bit intimidating, the foot scanning analysis and recommendations based on personal fit and performance
needs are definitely a worthwhile addition to retail for anyone who chooses their sneakers for more than just aesthetic value- although design customization options are of course available too. Another good reason to go to Paris.
