IPTV

By Henry Lambert on November 21, 2006

For those unfamiliar with the concept of IPTV it essentially allows users to choose what they watch and when as content is narrowcast over the internet. It also allows advertising to be specifically targeted to the person watching, rather than a whole audience group. In addition, IPTV makes niche broadcasting affordable – no longer to you need an audience of millions to make a programme viable – the long tail means that they’ll always be an audience.

Richard says:

“I’m now officially in love with IPTV as you should be dear reader. Not just the narrowcast distribution of content to our TVs (including addressable advertising – very exciting) but more significantly perhaps broadband TV channels working so far down the long tail they can monetise audiences that are smaller than people in the UK that admit to voting Tory (our Republicans).”
