Coming to an Architectural Magazine near you, the new Spanish winery designed by Frank Gehry looks to redefine what a visit to the vineyard is all about. The new Marqués de Riscal "City of Wine," is a complex housing a hotel, a spa of wine therapy, an exclusive restaurant, a meeting and conference center, banquet halls, and a wine museum.

The new "wine destination," which Gehry designed, is part of a $77 million renovation of the 139-year-old Marqués de Riscal estate. As part of the opening celebration, the Marqués de Riscal will unveil their limited and exclusive ‘Frank Gehry Selection Reserva 2001′ wine collection.

The architecture is signature Gehry with lots of flowing titanium panels and jagged block shapes. The exterior architecture also contains the signature colors of Marqués de Riscal: pink like the wine, gold like the mesh on the Riscal bottles, and silver like the bottle top.

  1. In my opinion, the building is fantastic if we are refering to the design and its architecture.

But locating this hotel in the litlle town of Elciego, is similar to meeting to the Dalai Lama ridign an UFO in the middle of the Tibet.
