Microsoft Drops Urban Spam Into Small Town

These videos show an apparent campaign by Microsoft to drop software into a small town by parachute. WTF! Urban Spam!

Ask from AdLand says:

“Word is, the massive “software drop” was an effort to promote the launch of Microsoft’s new Office Accounting software and the ideawins.com
website.”

This stuff makes us so angry. [Update: if it's not a hoax....]

  1. Sorry man but I hate that ‘Urban Spam’ tag.

So is Bankys Urban Spam too?

    What about coprorate buildings?

Any commercial communication in the public domain?

  2. I smell a rat - this looks surprisingly like a hoax of some kind. The second video is a little too staged…

  3. Adam, You drop crap on a town, it’s highly untargetted. The majority of people don’t need the product nor want it.

    Nick, maybe you’re right…

  4. not so much a hoax as a city collaboration with Mirosoft to influct urban spam on residents:

  5. I’m trying to figure out what Urban Spam is and what it’s not. It has to do with the content, format, and target audience. Take a look to the post “Defining Urban Spam” and contribute to the discussion.
