Free Charge Points in London

Already charging SUV driver’s an additional fee on top of the mandatory congestion charge, London has just installed two new curbside charging points to help encourage electric cars and reduce overall air pollution. There are already 13 car parks in London offering free charge ups.
“Putting free charging points on the street where people need them most
is a simple concept which we hope will help galvanise broader appeal
for electric car use," the local councillor said.

UPDATE:
A report released today by the Department of Energy has taken the first look at America’s existing electric power grid in regards to electric cars. The study estimates that the grid has enough juice to support 180 million plug-in cars.
The study estimates that if 84 percent of the nation’s 220 million vehicles relied primarily on electricity, emissions of carbon dioxide thought to be accelerating climate change would be cut by as much as 5 percent.
