Google To Go To Mars?

IT Wire Australia has reported that Google is assisting NASA’s space program to make a wealth of space data and imagery more easily available to the world. The Google founders have always harbored an ambition to make a Space Lift from the Earth’s surface into space and maybe the offering of services is their first step to realizing this dream. IT Wire takes it further and suggests:

[This news] would indicate the search engine giant is to play a key role one of NASA’s programs - perhaps the establishment of a lunar base, the exploration of Mars or the completion of the International Space Station.
