Marc Moves to London

by Amanda Gore (PSFK London)

Marc Jacobs will show his Marc by Marc Jacobs diffusion label as part of London Fashion Week in February reports WWD.The aim is to present the collection on February 16th to coincide with the opening of the first Marc Jacobs store in London, which will be locted in a former antiques store at 24-25 Mount St, Mayfair.

Aiming to vastly increase global brand growth, there are several cities scheduled for store openings on the Marc Jacobs agenda. Other new stores include a Dubai Marc by Marc boutique opening next week, and a  Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc boutique both due to open in Moscow in February, whilst several near-future possibilities include a Marc by Marc store in Savannah, Ga, and a Marc by Marc boutique in Tokyo’s Omotesando area, plus plans for a large unit on Madison Avenue in New York that will house all of the designer’s collections.

WWD also reports on Mr Jacob’s recent ventures outside of the catwalk, including creating the costumes for the "Amoveo" ballet at Paris’ Opera Garnier,
launching the Marc Jacobs Waterford tabletop collection and signing a
deal with Zannier Group for an extensive collection of Little Marc
childrenswear
to be launched in the spring. I thought Giles was a busy designer, but Marc sure trumps him!
