Uggs- The Trend That Won’t Die

by Amanda Gore (PSFK London)

There has been a lot written about Uggs- the very comfy but rather ugly Australian sheepskin boots that have been seen gracing the feet of pretty much every celeb known over the past two years, and that continue to be the footwear of choice for so many.

After being the must-have item for Autumn 2004 thanks to Kate, Sienna et al, most people would have expected the boots to be confined to the back of the wardrobe by now. Yet Drapers this week reports on a current Ugg drought for retailers as stock is still selling out at an unbelievable rate-

"Despite the UK market receiving almost 70,000 pairs of the boots in September, retailers across the country have sold out."

A prime example of the power of the consumer in dictating the fashion trends
