Everyone has a mobile phone these days. What follows is that
everyone has at least one horror story about being trapped in an
unsatisfactory mobile-phone contract.
Because of exorbitant
contract cancellation fees, mobile users tend to put up with problems
they experience until the contract runs out.
Recently moved, and your
old carrier’s reception is non-existent in your new neighborhood? Too
bad. Too many dropped calls destroying your conversations? Tough it
out. Just want to switch to a new plan and give something else a try?
Sure, but it’ll cost you.
These common scenarios could become a thing of the past because of CellSwapper, a site that matches people who want to change their mobile contracts. How is this possible? From the CellSwapper site:
CellSwapper.com
has discovered that your Carrier will only charge you an early
termination fee if they do not have somebody to pay the monthly fees
for the remainder of the contract. By finding another party to takeover
your plan, the Carrier is ensured that somebody else will continue
paying them a monthly fee.
It’s another example of
how web technology is creating communities where users can connect with
each other and solve common problems.
How will the mobile
carriers adapt? Could less punitive contract-cancellation fees be far
behind? How many people will swap their contracts when the Apple iPhone
finally becomes available?

Sell swap hasn’t discovered anything. These companies have been around for years now.
You can see celltradeusa.com for the company that started this concept 3 years ago and I believe resellualr is another one…
I used celltradeusa.com to get out of my cell phone contract with success so I`m a celltrade fan for life :)

I just signed up for Cellswapper and it was a waste of time and money. You can post your plan for free, however, in order to correspond with buyers you have to pay an $18.95 fee (I personally think the fee should only be paid when a successful transfer is completed). I waited until a buyer showed interest in taking over my contract, but when I paid the fee and initiated the transfer the buyer disappeared. I only assume that this is an internal scam to get sellers to fork over the 19 bucks.
