Hub Culture’s site says that the idea behind the hub zeitgeist ranking is that at certain times in certain places, there is a veritable “center of the universe” a place where innovation, change and vibe combine to create the place of the moment. They say:
It does not reflect ultimate power or coolness, but some combination that reflects “right now” better than anywhere.

Nothing compares to New York….its all about the soul of a city first and foremost. Dubai, LA, etc simply do not compare….

Completely agree with the rankings, but would have put London 1st just for becoming the new financial capital of the world. But can’t argue what with LA becoming the new art producing capital of the US. And it’s huge hispanic voice with the million man protest this year. Sadly, New York deserves the demotion. WTC design fiasco and lack of innovative for the longest dry spell.
