IMG to launch Berlin Fashion Week

IMG has just announced it’s newest fashion week showcase, opening in Berlin. Germany’s first international fashion week is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, and joins IMG’s very successful stable which includes New York Fashion Week, Sydney Fashion Week, London’s Fashion Fringe, Moscow Fashion Week and the Singapore Fashion festival among others.

The first event will premiere July 12-15th and plans to present a platform for local up-and-coming designers as well as showcasing international brands. With so many new fashion weeks appearing at the moment it seems difficult to garner attention, especially when timed against the traditional fashion calendar, but the current energy and creativity coming out of Germany across all the arts should definitely encourage the fashionistas to take notice. I for one am eager to see what’s in store.
