No 1 Show Gets 37.3 Million Viewers, No 1 Album Makes 60,000 Sales
The Dreamgirls soundtrack reached number one in the US last week with only 60,000 record sales - the lowest number one selling record in modern pop history. Meanwhile, American Idol launched with 37.3 million people watching the first show - the biggest premiere in the 20-year history of Fox Broadcasting, Billbaord reports.
Time to get out the record business and into the music business, we think.
