Interesting and honest photography by Bruce Osborn, visualizing the generational gap between old & new Japan. The series is called "Oyako," and features photos of parents with their children over 25 years of work.
Some surprising contrasts emerge:
Housewives and Punkrocker sons. A pet-shop owner dad with his porno-actress daughter. A ramen-shop owner dad and his beautician son.
It’s very interesting to see the changes happening within the families, between one generation and the next, especially within the rapid evolving context of Japanese society.

Funny, two weeks ago the “Sueddeutsche Zeitung Magazin” had a similar cover story where aging mothers were asked to explain their kids -working in hightech and new media- jobs….
