Techart: Glam White Goods

“Eeew, it looks awful,” Hedy said when we showed her the picture of this washing machine - but it still set us off on an adventure to find out more. It’s an interesting development: glam white goods. We poked around the web and found that Techart was all the rage.

This Samsung Hauzen washing machine is an example of Techart and comes with this rather showy red and gold frontage. It’s designed by Korean uber-designer Andre Kim. There’s even more Andre Kim Samsung mash-up stuff: an air-conditioning unit and a fridge. Here’s an interesting article also on the Andre Kim effect on design.
