G-Wiz & Eley Kishimoto

By Piers Fawkes on February 21, 2007

Over six months ago Henry Lambert wrote a piece on PSFK about the emerging popularity of electric cars in the UK. After reviewing the reaction to the latest offerings, he said, “If London is anything to go by then electric cars are back and they are here to stay.” Now Urban Junkies spotlights a collaboration between Eley Kishimoto and the G-Wiz electric car that’s sure to stir interest in the category. They say:

The G-Wiz AC has one thing even the most stylish gas-guzzlers don’t: bona-fide fashion credentials. Along with a bevy of add-ons that we don’t fully understand, (40% increase in mid-range torque, anyone?) the G-Wiz AC has one killer optional extra: Eley Kishimoto. If you don’t fancy the whole ‘any colour as long as it’s black’ thing, then you can opt for a Kishimoto’s ‘Lightning Bolt’ print which would make any car look like it’s bombing along at 60mph even when it’s parked outside the pub.

The popularity of these cars is helped by the fact that London recently extended its congestion-charge zone but the electric cars remain exempt from the £8 daily charge.
