MOMA’s Young Young Architects Program

By Jeff Squires on February 20, 2007

P.S.1 and the Museum of Modern Art have named five finalists for the eighth annual Young Architects Program.  The finalists will be given a small stipend to produce design concepts for the pavilion that will be installed in P.S.1′s courtyard for the Warm-Up series, one of New York’s most anticipated  summer events, featuring world class DJs every Saturday.

Curators from both museums selected the finalists from a field of 35
who had been recommended by architects, editors, curators, and other
leading figures from the design professions.  P.S.1 and MoMA curators will name a winner on March 23.
The pavilion’s construction budget is roughly $70,000.

The finalists are:
Lisa Iwamoto and Craig Scott of Iwamoto Scott, San Francisco
Benjamin
Ball and Gaston Nogues of Ball-Nogues, Los Angeles
Mark Foster Gage of
Gage Clemenceau, New York, NY
Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample of
MOS, New York
David Ruy and Karel Klein of Ruy Klein, New York
