Last week we talked about the idea that we might see aa preloaded iPod Shuffle now that the Beatles have finally sorted out their beef with Apple, the iPod and computers people. Now we’ve found an example of a ‘disposable MP3 player on the copy of our favorite annual read: For this years Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, the sports mag
has teamed up cYclops LLC to incorperate a few more sense to the
already visually stunning content of the annual spread. For twenty
dollars, the company is selling S.I. branded portable music players
that come stocked with over two hours of music inspired by the sexy
sounds of Brazil, Memphis, and Miami. cYclops LLC has also been tasked
with extending SI’s brand and its print assets into all areas of sight,
sound and motion, and MemBrain LLC, an L.A. based entertainment and
marketing firm.
According to the press release:
Each dop! player comes equipped with a AAA
battery and is preloaded with a selection of music tracks to accompany
each segment of the swimsuit issue. The first release of dop! players
are available with soundtracks with the rhythm and blues overtones of
Memphis, the hot Latin sounds of Miami and the sexy, samba-infused
songs of Brazil. Sales of the player, which will retail for under $20,
will be supported by an integrated ad campaign including print and
online ads created by Jurkovac and Lupinacci.dop! players will be available starting February 14 on the Sports
Illustrated web site and on the new entertainment broadband site just
launched by Anheuser-Busch, www.Bud.tv.
