Julio Vacaflor : Alta en el Cielo & Radio Show Web Surfing

Artist Julio Vacaflor came all the way from Rosario last weekend to visit us in Buenos Aires to explain some of the projects that he was involved with.

One of his celebrated projects is called ‘Alta en el Cielo‘ which is a ten year project where he plans to get all the Argentinian people around the world to create the largest flag ever. The project started in 1999 and will be completed in 2012, Argentina’s bicentineal.

Vacaflor has asked everyone to create small pieces of the flag which will then be patched together. The flag is currently over 9 kilometers long (and growing).

Another project Vacaflor is working on is a radio show to get less connected groups in Argentina use the internet. He plans to host a regular show where he and his listeners go web browsing together. He’ll start somewhere and ask everyone else to go there too while he’s on the air. Then he’ll take emails and IM and react to them by going to other sites and web applications.
