Lego Virtual World

by Piers Fawkes in Gaming & Virtual Worlds, Youth

Yesterday we reported on the imminent launch of the Sony virtual world called Playstation Home, today we hear news that Lego plan to build a virtual world to connect all the users around the world who use their little plastic bricks. Game Daily reports:

“As children around the world continue to spend more time online, we are developing new and engaging ways for them to interact with our brand,” said Lisbeth Valther Pallesen, Executive Vice President, Community, Education and Direct Division Lego Group. “The Lego brand represents construction, creativity and problem solving — values that complement the MMOG market. The game will be available for download or purchase through Lego stores. As Mark William Hansen, the head of the Lego Universe project, explained to Reuters: “The more a child plays, they collect more coins and more bricks.
