Steve Jobs celebrates and encourages the microcosm of products around the iPod.

News Corp stymies and shuts down these same "Myspaceconomies".

Good business vs bad business.

I will be surprised if MySpace lasts for two more years. Actually, I can't believe it's made it this far. Should be called WasteOfSpace.com

"Steve Jobs celebrates and encourages the microcosm of products around the iPod."

Spoken like a true MacFan. Why doesn't iTunes work with other mp3 players then? Why isn't there a Windows or Linux vers. of Final Cut and other Mac software? Guess ol' Steve-o is happy with his 5% market share...

On the subject of mySpace, it does seem rather mean spirited of the site to restrict widgets. It's not like mySpace was hurting because of what was going on.
mySpace is still a great place to meet real people and have online friendships tho. I don't think it's going to go away any time soon. True, there's a lot of crap that goes on, but you can find some really cool people there.

User-generated haven MySpace recently made the bold move to stop Widgets from running on user pages. Users were adding widgets to their gaudy pages to play songs, videos, the weather. A few weeks ago, MySpace decided to block all widgets that weren&#82...
